A new hobby

“Miel? What are you doing?”

“Helping you, of course.”

“By digging up roots?”

“Well, duh! Didn’t you say you wanted to plant new plants? Then the WHOLE plants have to be removed first, right?”

“Of course, I just didn’t plan to remove that young tree… or the woodland strawberries…”

“… Oh… oh well, you can put in new stuff anyway, it’ll keep you occupied.”

“Thanks Miel, I needed more work.”

Welcome

Hi everyone and welcome to this blog, I’m Femke: Miel’s human. We live in Ghent, Belgium (the city the Flemish Giants breed was created). Miel has been my rabbit since August 3, 2007. I also have 3 other pets. Nina, who I got in March. She’s a Dutch breed rabbit. Compared to Miel she is tiny. To compare: Miel weights 6,5 kg and Nina weights about 1 kg. Rosa and Maya are 2 guinea pigs I got in April 2008 as companions for Filoe. Filoe I got at the same time as Miel. Unfortunately Filoe had a mysterious illness and he died in November 2008. I still miss him, he was such a good natured little guy.

We live in a flat with garden. The pets have their own pad in the gardenshed. During the day they roam in the garden, except for Nina who diggs holes. Nina runs free in the flat several hours a day instead. Since we live here Miel has blossomed. He enjoys the freedom and space. No plant is safe from him!
